The living in Germany page and the corresponding face book page, started out being something like a hobby about 5 years ago.<\/p>\n
We had met a bunch of new Americans that had moved into the village we lived in, and i tried to bring Germany closer to them and help them with day trips, bills or just every day life.<\/p>\n
I started with a little blog and moved to a page my friend provided to me for free; until finally a couple years ago, when I got my very own website. Recently i gained the opportunity to write for a printed Magazine for Americans in Germany, that is ran for the Stuttgart area.<\/p>\n
If your a newcomer or even if you have been here for a bit this page may be for you.<\/p>\n
There is just so much information out there\u2026 I thought it would be a great idea to put it all down in writing.<\/p>\n
So, here it is. If you are looking for a site that will tell you about Cuckoo clocks and Dirndls this would not be the site for you. Why? Well, because most of us Germans do not own a Cuckoo clock or a vast collection of beer steins.<\/p>\n
However, if you need help on store\u2019s opening hours, what trash bin the yogurt cup goes in or where to go for the weekend, you have come to the right place.<\/p>\n
I really do try to do my very best to sit down and write when ever I get a chance
\nand add information, but:<\/p>\n
I am a part time working mom of 2, English is not my maiden language either; people that know me personally, also know I tend to a little Zoo of my own at home.
\nI have 2 beautiful teenage daughters, one of them is chronically ill. And my hubby does like to see and spend time with me every once and a while too\u2026. so time is limited<\/p>\n
I am always happy about constructive criticism, I love it, when people send me things to add to the page.<\/p>\n
please keep that in mind when you find spelling mistakes or there is something missing on the page.<\/p>\n
Hopefully my volunteer work is helping someone out there<\/p>\n
